Natural Bodybuilding with Marc David: Meal Plans Need Not Be Difficult

  • Shari · 1 year ago
I loved this article! I ALWAYS eat pretty much the same thing. I make out a 7 day menu and then follow it. The only time I change it up is if my results are lagging. This way I can plan and pack for the day--if I know what I'm eating everyday, I don't have any trouble sticking to my plan!

Depressing. How do you not get bored? I know people who go off meal plans mostly because they're sick of eating the same thing every day or two days.

And what happens when on Friday, you don't feel like eating what you had planned out for Friday's meal on Monday? Is your answer going to be one of those "suck it up, tough it out" types?

    Egg,

If you plan out meals in advance, you can make them as wild and interesting as you want. The problem is... planning is hard work. When we start to just wing it, that's when inconsistency becomes the norm and missing workouts and meals becomes routine.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with a cheat day or scheduling in a cheat day. Give yourself small rewards and often.

As I type, I'm drinking a glass (lost count) of red wine. I don't frankly care right now if I'm a wee bit over or under or whatever on my calories.

I know that I don't do it too often so I'm okay.

Suck it up? Never. I believe in being consistent but I also firmly believe that life is more that bodybuilding and calorie counting. When my mistakes become the norm, we have a problem.

But they don't, so I'm fine.

I have many meal plans so when I get bored, I make up some new ones and it's exciting all over again. As long as you plan in advance and know what's coming, you are golden. It's when you ditch the meal plans and just wing it for days that problems occur. You don't know what's going on until after it's already happened.

Your idea about the variety meal is good.

I loved your article. And you're damned right. I've come to this stuff after years and years of chaotic eating habits.

Now I'm actually "planning" my meals ahead. Sometimes I'm planning them for a week sometime for less, but even if I get bored I change one or two meals on the way just for "variety".

So what you're saying it's not for body-builders, it's for all people who actually care for the health of their bodies. I'd rather say that a combination between pre-planned meals and some variety inserted in-between is the best combination for me.

    Keep up the good work

Wow, really good article. I think I'll be taking a shopping trip with my mother this weekend!
