Natural Bodybuilding with Marc David: Why Your Diet Won’t Work

Fiber to go - Kashi Vive Cereal - 12 grams fiber per serving and it's taste great. You can get it at almost any supermarket. I grab a handful with my protein shake. More great portable fiber foods: Flatout Wraps: 9g protein, 8g fiber, Kashi Go Lean Cereal 9g protein, 8g fiber per cup. Do you think that people get bored with the chicken breast and broccoli rut and that's why they start living on powerbars? I know I did that for a while until devoted some time in the supermarket reading labels to discover some no preparation protein options: low fat chicken hotdogs, turkey chili, turkey jerky etc. Find a really nice market like Whole foods or Trader Joes and walk around you'll find something new to eat.

Our bodies were designed to eat food the way it comes from Mother Nature. Yes, Kashi cereal is nice and convenient. So are chicken hot dogs and turkey jerky. But they are "processed foods". Stick to eating natural foods - the way you can find them in nature. What I mean by processed foods is these are still foods that have been touched by humans hand. You don't find Kashi cereal anywhere in nature. But you find oats, quinoa, etc. You find chicken breast, fish. So, what I'd suggest is (and that's what I do personally) instead of eating out of convenience, put a little more effort (and it doesn't take more time really) into preparing your meal with real single food ingredients. Example: chop lettuce, add raisins for carbs, add almonds for fat, add tuna or chicken breast for protein, lemon. That's it. Quinoa by the way is an awesome source of carbs, fiber, some fats and COMPLETE protein. I wonder why it is taking so long for people to realize what a wholesome food that is.
    Cheers.
